Huruma Bantfu is proud to be in partnership with Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in curating and executing the ‘Pathways to Information’.

Together, we continue to strive towards meaningful and impactful solutions to addressing the issue of youth unemployment, not only in the Western Cape but South Africa. Here are some highlights from the recent impact initiative that took place in February 2023 in Khayelitsha, Western Cape.

In 2021, Huruma Bantfu in partnership with The Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosted an event called ‘Pathways To Information’ at Philippi Village, Western Cape.

The event's focus was to connect youth to opportunities across 3 segments: Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship. Each segment featured guest speakers providing information and resources to the attending youth.

In the true spirit of co-creating and co-evolving, Huruma Bantfu celebrates facilitating a partnership between goGOGOgo and Vumatel in providing grandmothers with digital tablets and two-week training to be tech-savvy.

Our Co-Founder Sandile Tshabalala (he/him) is captured here amongst the Gogo’s from Eerste River, Cape Town. The Gogos from different townships were dressed in traditional attire. One-by-one they shared their experiences how they learned to navigate the apps on the tablets. They also received certificates for completing the training at a graduation ceremony attended by their grandchildren.
